Environmentally Responsible Sustainable Wood Flooring— terra legno’s products are designed to help to reduce today’s carbon footprint for future generations. Our policy is to manufacture high-quality sustainable hardwood flooring from forest to finish. Our raw materials are sourced from sustainable forests and no VOC resources, and our international manufacturing partners are ISO 14001 Certified for their environmentally responsible manufacturing processes.

Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)
FSC is an independent organization that certifies the lumber used to manufacture the wood flooring is sourced from. terra legno is certified by the FSC to offer Chain of Custody FSC certification. This certification may be specified by the architect or designer on their project.
LEED Potential Credits
LEED stands for Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design. LEED was setup by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). LEED is a point system for the construction of buildings in an environmental conscious manner. LEED has a point system that is based on lower the use of energy, and less waste with renewable and recycled materials, and air quality. terra legno has products which can qualify for LEED points. LEED has multiple levels of certifications based on points achieved

CARB 2 Compliant
The California Air Resources Board (CARB) implemented standards to improve indoor air quality by tightening limits for formaldehyde emissions from composite wood products. In 2012, the CARB formaldehyde standard was made even more stringent – lowering the limit to 0.05 parts per million. This enhanced phase is often referred to as CARB 2. CARB Compliance requires third-party testing. terra legnos’ engineered hardwood products meet or exceed CARB 2 requirements.
Lacey Act Compliant
The Lacey Act is a US law first passed in 1900 that banned trafficking in illegal wildlife. The Act was amended in 2008 to cover plants and plant products including paper and timber.
The 2008 amendment makes it a federal crime to trade in any wood products taken in violation of US or foreign law, to falsify documents, accounts, or records of any wood products covered by the Act, and to import wood products without an import declaration.
terra legno is in full compliance with the provisions of the Lacey Act. terra legno requires our suppliers to provide compliance forms covering all the wood products that we purchase. terra legno receives certificates and/or statements from our suppliers showing that they are in compliance with the requirements of the Lacey Act. We only source from those suppliers who can prove compliance.

Floorscore Certified:
FloorScore is a hard surface flooring and flooring adhesive product certification that meets strict indoor air quality requirements. It was developed by the Resilient Floor Covering Institute (RFCI) in partnership with SCS Global Services.
Products with the FloorScore label meet the indoor air quality emissions criteria of the US Green Building Council’s Leadership for Engineering and Environmental Design (LEED); Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS); WELL Building Standard, Green Guide for Healthcare, and other leading green building standards.
